Established at the end of the Nineteenth Century, bid services provides specialist support and advice to people and organisations regarding Deaf issues. Today it offers a range of services including Home Care, Residential Care, Care Management, Employment Services, Social Work, provision of specialist equipment, Deaf Awareness and BSL (British Sign Language) Training, to help both Deaf and Hearing communities.
We have worked with bid services since 2004, producing a wide range of information and promotional materials – from business cards to the most high profile campaign in bid services’ long history. Using a combination of bus and cinema advertising, our creative conveyed a clear message that demonstrated the positivity which bid services is so passionate about. Advertising for a charity has many purposes, but its primary aims are to attract support and raise awareness amongst those who may benefit from its services. And having been seen in multiplexes and upon roads throughout the Midlands, awareness increased hugely and the campaign was considered a great success.
At the end of 2008, we enabled bid services to realise a long held ambition of changing their name from its somewhat dated precursor of BID (an acronym for Birmingham Institute for the Deaf). As a long-term partner. Aptronym was best placed to understand the charity’s unique needs – and ultimately delivered a new image that enhances its existing identity whilst still respecting its roots.
As well as redesigning the charity’s core brand, we introduced sub-brands for each of its service areas, allowing each department to promote itself more effectively. New literature has been produced which benefits from some stunning photography…

Matching familiar elements with energetic colours and type, bid services is looking good as it builds on its extensive work to help even more people…
