Established at the end of the Nineteenth Century, BID provides specialist support and advice to people and organisations regarding Deaf issues.

Today it offers a range of services including Home Care, Residential Care, Care Management, Employment Services, Social Work, provision of specialist equipment, Deaf Awareness and BSL (British Sign Language) Training, to help both Deaf and Hearing communities.


Having worked with BID since 2004 on a wide range of informational and promotional materials, Aptronym was recently involved in the most high profile campaign that has been conducted during BID's long history.

Using a combination of bus and cinema advertising, it was decided to convey a clear message and use an image that would be attractive and demonstrate the positivity which BID is so passionate about. The specially-commissioned image of three people signing the letters B, I and D is simple - but effective.

Advertising for a Charity has many purposes but primary aims are to attract support and raise awareness amongst those who may benefit from a Charity's services. And having been seen in cinemas and on roads throughout the Midlands, this campaign was considered a great success.
