The Crescent Theatre is one of Birmingham's oldest theatre companies with a reputation for providing high quality entertainment at affordable prices. Located in Sheepcote Street (just off Broad Street), it is part of the prestigious Brindleyplace development in the heart of Birmingham. With big names like Julian Clary on the bill, The Crescent Theatre decided their new season should take centre stage. Wishing to produce a magazine to showcase its own productions alongside those from visiting companies, Aptronym worked with the theatre to produce a new listings magazine called Crescent Scene. The marketing of the theatre's own acting company had recently undergone a revamp with posters and flyers now adopting an elegant and iconic style. With so much going on at The Crescent in just the next few months, the decision was taken to move from an A5 folded leaflet of four panels to one of six. But with Aptronym undertaking both the design and printing, this remained a cost-effective solution. The first issue of Crescent Scene proved an immediate hit. With the initial batch of the magazine being hastily picked up far quicker than expected, a reprint was ordered soon after it hit the shelves... |
